Star Search

Its County Fair Time (TM)!

Here in the county we are stop one for Fair Season in the great state of Maine with the Houlton Fair kicking things off.

Houlton is one of the three "big cities" of Aroostook County. Which means that it, along with the metropolises of Presque Isle and Caribou, has more than 5,000 residents.

No town in the county has 10,000 people, so this counts as a big city up this way.

Anyway, the Houlton Fair is mostly an agricultural fair with some rides.

But this year, as you would know if you were listening to the radio in Northern Maine or Western New Brunswick (and yes, like Sarah Palin and Russia, I can see Canada from my house - except I really can), you know we have a special treat this year.

Wait for it...

American Idol star Josh Gracin is playing!

Oh my God, are you totally going to die? I know!

And it gets better...

I've got tickets!

I know, right?

Now, before we all have too good of a laugh, I'll admit that I actually like Josh Gracin. I voted for him every week on American Idol. I booed Simon from my couch at home when he told him every week he "didn't have what it takes".

And just look at him! He's cute as a button.

I also, will be the first to admit that when I heard he would be playing in Houlton, I thought, well, those three top five country hits (the radio told me...over and over and over again) and that American Idol apprearance got him...here?

So overall, I'm looking forward to the big concert tomorrow.

Don't be jealous. I'll see if I can snag some pictures for you.

I loved him as well. As much as I am not a fair person (except for the food) I am a little jealous.

ooooh, he is a hot man! dang!

Tivo - I also am not a fair person, but one of the kids at The Restaurant last night was talking about the rides, and I found myself getting excited about The Zipper...

Kevin - He is that. He's a Marine, has a wife and young child, and just seems like a good guy all around.

You don't by any chance watch Can You Duet on CMT, do you? Last year I was the only one of my blog friends who did. I'm trying to find someone else who does, so we can discuss.
